FLUX is not driven by one actor, but by a shared wish to lift games into the cultural conversation and make Aarhus a natural home for that conversation.
Games are one of the most dynamic and diverse art forms of our time, but they are rarely treated that way. Cultural life takes music, film and theatre seriously, while games are still often missing from the cultural stage, even though millions of people play.
Denmark has strong game developers, a growing talent scene and important cultural institutions, but no festival that gathers them around games as culture. FLUX was created to change that: to give games a cultural stage and give Aarhus a new cultural meeting point.
FLUX is rooted in a collaboration between central actors in the Danish games and culture sectors.

FLUX is built as a long-term platform, not a one-off event. Partners who join early take position in a fast-growing cultural field.
We establish the format and prove the concept at Godsbanen. Aarhus gets its games culture festival.
We expand the programme, strengthen local partnerships and attract Nordic attention.
FLUX is established as a natural Nordic meeting point for games culture, with Aarhus as its permanent home.
